GOVOTEGA is a Non-Partisan app that provides members with curated and contextualized voter engagement experience that displays and enables opportunities to participate in the engagement, enlightenment and election of public figures who are responsible for creating and upholding the policies that govern our quality of life.

GOVOTEGA’s data and experience exclusively serves end-users who reside in the Georgia area.
For those who reside in Georgia we provide:

Information and access to elected officials who currently represent you based on your address or location.


Information about upcoming Primary, General, and Special elections; including but not limited to, ballot information, polling locations, key dates, and information about the offices and candidates that will appear on your ballot.


We also provide a Civic Profile experience that allows end-users to start the process of being engaged civic participants so we may better serve them through this application and use that information to improve and personalize your experience with every new version we release.

DATA SOURCES:

GOVOTEGA is a whitelabel application that is powered by EMPOWRD APPS INC. (empowrd.com)

EMPOWRD aggregates civic and political data that is acquired from a plethora of sources and then modeled and managed from within a proprietary Civic Data Manager called POWRBASE.

Our specific sources for data are as follows:

JURISDICTION BOUNDARIES DATA:
Boundary files are acquired from the Secretary of States (example: https://sos.ga.gov/OpenRecords/) office and via open data request that we directly send to municipalities via their respective city websites

ELECTED LEADER DATA [Contact Info, Election Dates, Terms]:
Elected Leader Data is acquired from the .GOV official websites of all the Cities, Counties, and States EMPOWRD has elected leader data for. (For example, for Atlanta related data we go to atlatlanta.gov/government - we take a similar approach to other elected officials as well)


CANDIDATE DATA & PHOTOS [Websites, Photos, Office Information]:
Candidate Data is collected manually by data personnel and volunteer groups that use a combination of news publications, board of election websites and departments as well as other city, county, and state government offices with whom we engage directly for information and resources. Photos are often pulled from wikipedia, ballotpedia.org, campaign website or official government (.gov) websites.
